Many people ask me how to go from Rome to Florence by train: the trip is quite easy, there are many highspeed trains daily and it takes around 90 minutes.

You should buy your train tickets online and in advance in order to reserve your seats: go to Trenitalia.com or ItaloTreno.it, check trains departing from Roma Termini station to Firenze Santa Maria Novella, these are the main train stations in the two cities.

The price for the trip from Rome to Florence is around 50€, but remember, you can score decent deals by booking in advance! On saturdays there’s a 2×1 special, for example!

From Roma Termini you can take Metro A or Metro B subway and reach your destination, while in Firenze you can walk from Santa Maria Novella to the city center.
